With so many different protein powders on the market, it’s almost impossible to find which one will taste best for you.
Amazon alone has over 9000 different unique protein powders to choose from!
Don’t be intimidated by all the different brands and flavors, we are here to narrow down the search for you and help you choose.
So without further ado, what is the best tasting protein powder on the market?
BSN Syntha-6 – Chocolate Peanut Butter
Syntha-6 has a reputation for making protein powders that taste delicious and for creating some of the greatest flavors on the protein powder market.
Many companies make flavors that taste like artificial sweeteners and leave a chemical taste in your mouth after drinking them.
There are tons of flavors out there, ranging from regular vanilla to salted caramel chocolate coffee.
There is even an apple pie protein powder, for those who love the nostalgia of granny’s homemade apple cobbler.
Since trying many flavors that tasted disgusting, I was on the search for a protein powder that actually tastes really good.
and this was my favorite flavor, hands down.
There are also thousands of customers who love this flavor and swear it’s the best protein powder they’ve ever tasted.
These are just a few reviews stating that BSN Syntha-6 Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor is the undisputed champion when it comes to taste and I agree.
What Does BSN Syntha 6 Chocolate Peanut Butter Taste Like?
If you love Reeses as much as I do, you know it’s the defacto standard when comparing anything with chocolate and peanut butter mixed together.
The front of the package has a picture of two peanut butter cups being hurled from a chocolate milk volcano, so that’s definitely the flavor I was expecting. My opinion might be a little biased, but no, the protein powder doesn’t taste nearly as good as Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Then again, we are talking about protein powder here and not a candy bar, so what did you expect? It does taste really good though, almost close to peanut butter cookies.
Unlike many other protein powders, it doesn’t leave a strong aftertaste.
It’s also missing that chalky, sandy texture which you find with lots of other powders on the market.
There are small bits of cookie crumble in the powder, but the consistency is still really smooth and blends greatly with almond or cashew milk.
I definitely recommend using milk and making a smoothie, you can add it a glass of water and stir but it won’t taste nearly as good.
If you do decide to try it with water, use a little less than 150ml or it might taste too watery.
Overall, it tastes just like chocolate and peanut butter with a little bit of cookie added in for fun.

It is a little more expensive than the low-tier brands on the market.
A 5-pound container costs between $40 and $50 USD. That will get you 48 servings. If you drink it once a day, that will last you a little over a month.
Amazon has the best price that I was able to find, for $45, you can have it at your front door in less than 2 days with free Prime shipping.
Some other high-end protein powders go for as much $70, Gold Standard’s Chocolate Peanut Butter sells for $59.99.
Impact’s Chocolate Mint Whey Protein averages at around $62.99.
Compared to other premium whey proteins, this one is actually very reasonably priced.
If you are on a budget, you can try the 2.91 Lb container which is only $29.99.
It might be better to try the smaller one first just to make sure you like it before investing in the larger size.
So Is It The Best Tasting Protein Powder?
This is definitely the best tasting protein powder that I’ve ever had. Even though there are some awesome tasting protein powders out there, this is my personal favorite.
Considering that it doesn’t have a bad chemical aftertaste and even tastes drinkable with only water, it gets 5 stars from me.
Of course, whether you like this flavor will also depend on your personal taste preferences.
If you are someone who can’t stand the taste of peanut butter or chocolate, then this probably wouldn’t be the best protein powder for you. Also, if you are allergic to peanuts, dairy or have a wheat intolerance, steer clear of this flavor.
I am not the only person who thinks that BSN Syntha-6 makes the best flavors in the protein powder industry.
There are thousands of 5-star reviews from people all over the Internet and countless numbers of YouTube influencers who agree that BSN Syntha 6 Chocolate Protein powder is the best tasting protein powder out there.
If you are someone who prefers a more natural taste with less sugar, you might not like this flavor that much.
Also, if you drink smoothies more than once per day, the $50 price tag might be unattractive to you. If you have one for lunch and breakfast, you are likely to spend more than $50 a month on this particular protein powder.
Final warning, don’t be disappointed if it doesn’t taste exactly like the picture on the front.
Even though it does taste amazing compared to other protein blends, it still tastes like a nutritional supplement.
If you are looking for a new flavor or just getting into drinking protein smoothies, I highly encourage you to try it out for yourself and see what you think.
